Cosmetic dentistry changes how your teeth look: their position, shape, size or color. At Dentist on Madison, cosmetic care starts with an examination, because healthy teeth and gums come first. Decay or gum problems are treated before cosmetic work begins.

The three treatments in this group change different things:

• Invisalign moves teeth gradually with a series of clear, removable aligners. It can help with crowding, gaps and some bite problems. Our practice is a Platinum Invisalign Provider for 2025, a tier in Invisalign's provider program.
• Dental veneers are thin, custom-made covers bonded to the front of teeth to change their shape, color or length. Porcelain veneers usually need a thin layer of enamel removed, so the change is not reversible.
• Teeth whitening lightens the natural color of your teeth with a peroxide gel, in our office or at home with custom trays. It does not change the color of crowns, fillings or veneers.

Treatments can also be combined. For example, some people straighten their teeth with Invisalign before whitening or veneers. Dr. Avner will explain which order makes sense for your teeth and what result you can realistically expect. Results vary from person to person.
